Casio Provides More Support for Areas Affected by Japan Earthquake

Casio Computer Co., Ltd., expresses its heartfelt sympathies to everyone suffering in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In an effort to provide assistance to people suffering from the disaster and contribute to the recovery of the region hit by the earthquake and tsunami, in June Casio donated a total of 32,570,000 yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society, local governments in the disaster areas (through the Japanese Association of Metal, Machinery, and Manufacturing Workers), and the Japan Platform, a non-profit organization. The donation was comprised of 10,570,000 yen collected from Casio employees, including those from outside of Japan, and 22,000,000 yen from Casio Computer Co., Ltd., via a matching gifts program, under which the company promised to more than match the total amount of donations from employees.

In addition to the above donation, Casio will continue contributing to the Ashinaga Donation Fund for Children Orphaned by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami operated by Ashinaga, a non-profit organization, as a way to support children who have lost their parents as a result of the earthquake. Casio has donated 5,000,000 yen in the current fiscal year, and plans to contribute an additional 2,000,000 yen annually over the next 10 years for a total contribution of 25,000,000 yen.

When these donations are combined with the 50,000,000 yen contribution announced in a previous press release, as well as an additional contribution of 5,000,000 yen, the overall donation to relief efforts from the Casio Group totals 102,000,000 yen.

In addition, Casio has donated clocks for use in temporary shelters and digital cameras equipped with GPS functions to disaster headquarters set up by municipal and prefectural governments in areas affected by the earthquake. The company is also continuing to provide assistance including the donation of calculators and other items to schools that have lost their teaching materials.

Everyone at Casio sincerely hopes for the rapid recovery of areas struck by the disaster, and will continue to pay close attention to the needs of people in the region. Casio is determined to bring together the efforts of its entire corporate group to provide as much support as possible.

Henry Paulson Relies on Casio.

Henry Merritt “Hank” Paulson, Jr. the American banker who served as the 74th United States Secretary of the Treasury makes no secret about his timing: He uses a CASIO watch.

Trading the markets is a classic example of PRECISION, expensive watches may be a great way to store, and even transport wealth, but when there are fortunes at stake, no one is willing to risk on fancy brands or trends. Hank, just like me relies on CASIO to be on time.

The picture above is a real screen shot of the PBS documentary, Braking the bank, and the man is Paulson when he was the Secretary of Treasury. An image is worth a thousand words, and an endorsement like this, beats any one.

Way to go Hank!
